In a world where quick fixes and superficial weight loss solutions dominate, you need to go against the grain.
Superficial weight loss might yield exciting temporary results, but for a transformative and lasting change, you have to go deeper.
I used to lose weight like crazy – and thought I was tough as nails for doing it the ‘old fashioned way’. Eating as little as I could, while burning as many calories as I could.
Shallow Weight Loss

It’s no wonder I was always stuck on the weight loss roller coaster.
Losing weight rapidly, just to gain it back (and then some).
On of the worst things you can do is to get trapped on this weight loss ferris wheel.
It robs you of your progress, your confidence, and your willingness to try again.
You’ll only get so many chances to get off it.
It reminds me of when I worked in kitchens, and we’d always have those hot shot cooks.
With a chip on their shoulder, and the expensive knife set.
They thought they were hard core because they stayed up late after work and showed up hungover to back-to-back 14 hour shifts.
The old indian lady in the back who has been working in kitchens for 25 years is real life hard core. She comes in and sets up her task list, then executes quietly. Nothing flashy.
Day after day.
Doing it on hard mode isn’t noble
The only way you can break yourself out of a weak and shallow diet approach is to change how you see it.
Using structure. Being assertive.
It’s not as simple as ‘eat less, move more’
That’s limp dick advice.
And if it worked, everyone would be in great shape.
Let’s be honest, if you’re overweight then you probably don’t know how to manage your weight.
Even if you think you know all the right things.
Then ask yourself… why are you not where you want to be?
Maybe you know how ‘someone’ might manage their weight effectively.
But why doesn’t that knowledge work for you?
Something is missing.
I’ve been there.
But I was too proud to admit that I had something to learn.
Trying every random and feral approach that I could to make it work.
Until I had just failed so many times that losing the weight became this enormous mental mountain that I didn’t even want to attempt.
Taking that emotional and reactive approach is a surefire way to end up back where you started.
Losing weight slowly or not at all.
And you take another lap on the ferris wheel
A deep approach

If you had to…
You’d be smarter about it.
You’d do it like you really meant it.
You’d make a plan and outline the exact steps you’d take to get you where you want to be.
You’d seek clarity, understanding, and results.
That’s what I want you to do before you try losing weight next time.
If that means you have to wait a week to get started, fine.
Just wait.
Do this first.
Ask yourself these 9 questions:
Before your next weight loss attempt.
To help you lose fat faster, keep it off for longer, and avoid burnouts or false starts.
These questions will guide your actions and your mind.
1. What is my current weight?
2. What is my goal weight?
3. How fast will I lose weight?
4. How long will I lose weight for?
5. How will I keep track of it (calories, macros, calories + protein)?
6. How many days per week will I weigh in? 2x? 5x? 7x?
7. What would make me quit this diet?
8. What will I do when I reach my goal weight?
9. On a scale of 1-10, how much am I willing to commit to this right now? And why?
Once you have all those answered…
You know what you’re going to do.
You know how you’re going to do it.
And you’ll know why.
At that point, there’s nothing left for you except success.
Leave cheap and shallow behind.
Go deep.
